April 26, 2010: Only Units Purchased Directly from PA Soft can use the latest software released on their website.  The newest update provides no extra functions but is designed to cause damage to any all units that were not distributed directly by PA.  All units shipped after this date have been updated to help prevent incidental damage.

Description: BMW Scanner E6x (version 2.0.1) is for chassis

BMW Scanner E6x V2.0.1 is intended to work with BMW 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 series with the new chassis listed above.  BMW Scanner is primary an excellent diagnotic tool.  Odometer adjustments are supported where available.  For odometer correction on all modules consider using a specific tool for those functions.

Note: BMW Scanner 1.4.0 is now working with the full features.  The Software bug in early software versions is fixed.

BMW Scanner is primarly a diagnostic tool for scanning and diagnosing vehicles.  Although BMW scanner can perform IKE / LCM / EWS rewrite functions additional tools many be require some additional work to perform these actions. M35080 may require a special programmer  See below for details on some possible requirements.

On EWS 3 (Mask 0D46J) you must solder a connection to allow unlock and erase function.

E38 / E39 / E36 / E46 Dash may require the use of a speed generation tool to ENABLE writing the IKE EEPROM by Diagnosis.  See digrams below for connection.

BMW OBD16F to BMW 20 CABLE

Used as an adapter for BMW 20PIN male connector to OBD2 16PIN female connector.
(Also known as asapter from Type C to Type B)

The 20 pin connector (nick named the PAC MAN connector) is found under Hood in BMW's 1987-2000 (Z3 to 2003)

Cars with both OBD2 (16 pin) and 20pin connectors under the hood have limited diagnostic functions at the OBD2 point at the drivers feet and require this cable to access most electronic modules.
